On October 13, 2026, Apple officially unveiled the fourth generation of its Apple TV 4K, showcasing enhanced performance and a range of new features. This latest entertainment device promises a more immersive home theater experience, powered by the advanced Siri AI and the ability to produce surround sound with four HomePod speakers.
Advanced Siri AI Capabilities
One of the standout features of the new Apple TV 4K is its upgraded Siri AI, which now offers a more conversational and intelligent interaction. Users can control the device without touching the remote, thanks to a built-in microphone. Bob Borchers, Apple's Vice President of Worldwide Product Marketing, emphasized that the new Apple TV 4K delivers the most immersive home theater experience they've ever created. The far-field microphone allows users to engage with Siri hands-free, making it easier to search for content.
Enhanced Performance with A19 Chip
The Apple TV 4K is equipped with the A19 chip, which is also used in the iPhone 17. This chip significantly boosts performance, with CPU capabilities increasing by up to 50% and GPU performance doubling compared to its predecessor. These enhancements result in a more responsive interface, smoother animations, and faster app loading times. Additionally, the A19 chip includes a specialized AV1 decoder, enabling high-quality video streaming with improved bandwidth efficiency.
Immersive Audio Experience
In an exciting development, the new Apple TV 4K can leverage four HomePod speakers to create a surround sound system. Users can connect four HomePod mini 2 or four second-generation HomePods, which automatically adjust to their positions in the room. This setup allows for a more immersive audio experience, with the system synchronizing sound output and volume levels. Apple specifies that the front and back speakers must be of the same model for optimal performance.
Smart Home Integration and Features
The Apple TV 4K also serves as a hub for smart home control. It supports smart doorbell notifications directly on the TV screen, enabling two-way communication with visitors. Users can command their smart home accessories via Siri AI, thanks to the integration of Apple Intelligence. This feature allows the Home app to generate summaries of security camera activity and notifications, although it requires compatible devices and an iCloud+ subscription.
The fourth generation Apple TV 4K will be available for pre-order starting October 13, 2026, in the United States and 29 additional countries. It is set to hit stores on November 13, 2026, priced at USD 299, approximately IDR 5.3 million. While Siri AI is currently in beta with tvOS 27.2 and supports second-generation Apple TV 4K and newer devices, Indonesia is not included in the initial launch countries. However, Apple confirms that the device will be available in Indonesia, although pricing and availability details are yet to be announced.
