Dyson has unveiled its latest innovation, the CameraJet, an electric toothbrush equipped with an integrated camera and an automatic mouthwash spray system. Priced at $499 (approximately IDR 7.7 million), this device addresses a common issue: the neglect of dental flossing among users.
Key Features of the Dyson CameraJet
The standout feature of the Dyson CameraJet is its impressive 100,000-pixel macro lens, strategically positioned just below the brush head. This camera operates using an artificial intelligence algorithm known as Gap Optical Targeting, which is based on 16 million lines of code and trained with 470,000 images of teeth.
Real-Time Detection and Precision Spraying
One of the significant advantages of the CameraJet is its real-time detection capability. The camera scans 28 images per second to identify and predict gaps between teeth while the user brushes. Within just 100 milliseconds of detecting a gap, the device releases a conical jet of mouthwash to effectively dislodge plaque. Unlike traditional water flossers that often use high-pressure jets, the Dyson's conical spray is designed to provide a wider coverage with gentler pressure, ensuring the health of both enamel and gums.
Innovative Mouthwash Tank
The CameraJet features a transparent mouthwash tank with a capacity of 12.5 ml, located at the top of the device. Utilizing an “anti-gravity” system with a diaphragm pump and pressurized chamber, this tank ensures a steady flow of liquid, even when the toothbrush is tilted or inverted while cleaning the back teeth.
Enhanced User Experience with Smart Technology
The brush head combines soft bristles for the gum line with firmer bristles for stain removal. Its dynamic sonic oscillation movement is designed to change angles continuously, preventing the bristles from stalling when in contact with teeth surfaces.
Equipped with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, the CameraJet connects to the MyDyson app, allowing users to access live-viewing features to observe the inside of their mouths as if undergoing a professional dental checkup. Additionally, users can monitor their cleaning map and analyze brushing data.
To enhance camera visibility and prevent foam obstructions, Dyson has developed a special non-foaming toothpaste along with a low-foam mouthwash available in Ginger Mint and Spearmint flavors. This innovative approach ensures a superior dental care experience.
