Xiaomi's Average Selling Price Hits Record Levels

Recent financial reports indicate that Xiaomi's average selling price (ASP) for smartphones soared to a record high in the second quarter of 2026. The ASP reached 1,351 yuan, approximately 3.5 million IDR per unit, marking a 26% increase compared to the same period last year.

Historical Price Trends

The ASP for Xiaomi devices has shown a notable upward trend over the years. For instance, in 2020, the global ASP was reported at 1,039.8 yuan, which gradually increased to 1,097.5 yuan in 2021 and 1,111.3 yuan in 2022. However, the ASP dipped slightly to 1,081.7 yuan in 2023 before rising again to 1,138.2 yuan in 2024. In 2025, it decreased marginally to 1,128.7 yuan.

Factors Behind the Price Surge

A significant factor contributing to the rising ASP is the increasing sales of premium smartphones. During the second quarter of 2026, premium models accounted for 32.1% of Xiaomi's total smartphone sales in mainland China, up from 27.6% the previous year. This shift towards higher-end devices has been a strategic focus for Xiaomi over recent years.

Impact of Sales and Market Position

Interestingly, despite the record-high average prices, Xiaomi experienced a sharp decline in smartphone shipments, with only 31.2 million units sold globally in the second quarter of 2026, down 26% from approximately 42.4 million units in the same quarter last year. Nevertheless, Xiaomi remains the third-largest smartphone vendor worldwide, holding an 11.5% market share. The company's smartphone division generated 42.1 billion yuan in revenue, underscoring its importance to Xiaomi's overall financial performance.
