iQOO has officially unveiled its latest flagship smartphone, the iQOO 16, in China. This device is designed for gamers, boasting impressive specifications that promise smooth performance for an exceptional gaming experience.
Powerful Performance with Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6
The iQOO 16 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, built using advanced 2 nm fabrication technology. This powerful chip is complemented by a dedicated gaming chip, Q4, along with options for up to 16 GB of RAM and a massive 1 TB of internal storage. To ensure sustained performance during long gaming sessions, the iQOO 16 incorporates a vapor chamber cooling system measuring 8,500 mm², enhanced by a graphite layer to effectively dissipate heat from key components.
Stunning Display for Immersive Gaming
On the front, the iQOO 16 features a Samsung M16 LTPO AMOLED display measuring 6.85 inches, with a resolution of 3,168 x 1,440 pixels. This display offers a refresh rate of up to 165Hz, making it ideal for fast-paced gaming. iQOO claims that the screen achieves a global brightness level of 2,800 nits, with a peak local brightness of 10,000 nits. Additionally, it supports PWM dimming at 3,300Hz and comes with an anti-reflective coating, enhancing visibility in various lighting conditions.

The rear camera setup of the iQOO 16 is equally impressive, featuring three 50 MP cameras housed in a stylish new glass module. The primary camera utilizes a 1/1.3-inch sensor with an f/1.68 aperture and optical image stabilization (OIS). The secondary camera is an ultra-wide 50 MP lens, while the third camera is a periscope telephoto 50 MP sensor from Sony, which also includes OIS and 3x optical zoom capabilities. For selfies, users can take advantage of the 32 MP front camera.
Long-lasting Battery with Fast Charging
The iQOO 16 is equipped with a robust 8,400 mAh battery, an upgrade from the previous model, iQOO 15, which had a 7,000 mAh battery. This new battery supports 100W fast charging via cable and 40W wireless charging. There is also a bypass charging feature that allows direct power delivery to the device during gaming, reducing strain on the battery.
Running on Android 17 with OriginOS 7, the iQOO 16 includes an under-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers, NFC, infrared support, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 connectivity. It also boasts IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance, weighing between 222.5 grams and 229.8 grams depending on the color variant.
The device is currently available in China in four configurations, with estimated prices based on current exchange rates. However, there is no information yet on whether the iQOO 16 will be available in global markets, including Indonesia.
