At Lenovo Tech Day 2026 held at Shangri-La Jakarta on June 18, Lenovo showcased various artificial intelligence (AI) solutions for the industrial sector. One of the standout innovations was a robodog, displayed at the Lenovo Manufacturing Solutions booth and attracting significant visitor attention.
Innovation from Singapore
Budi Janto, President Director of Lenovo, explained that the robodog was directly imported from Singapore. The goal is to demonstrate how robotic technology can be applied in inspection, monitoring, and patrol processes within industrial environments. The presence of the robodog is expected to enhance efficiency and safety in factory areas.
Design and Capabilities of the Bot MC
The showcased robot model is called Bot MC. This robodog features a modern design with a white body and four black mechanical legs. During the demonstration, Bot MC showed agile movement on flat surfaces as well as areas with height differences.
Weighing around 20 kilograms, the robot can walk at a maximum speed of 3.7 meters per second. Interestingly, Lenovo also offers an option to increase the robot's speed up to 5 meters per second. The robot is designed not only for inspection and patrol needs but also for educational purposes.
Advanced Features and Remote Control
Bot MC is equipped with a front camera that acts as its "eyes" to record and observe its surroundings. In the demonstration, the robot was controlled via a remote similar to a Nintendo Switch handheld console. With this device, the operator can view live camera footage, control the robot's direction, adjust speed, and stop the robot's operation at any time.
Additionally, Bot MC supports various extra sensors such as a robotic arm and laser scanner to meet more specific needs. It has a payload capacity of up to 15 kilograms and holds an IP54 certification, indicating resistance to dust and water splashes. In terms of endurance, the robot can operate for 1-2 hours on a single charge.
