Meccha Chameleon Achieves 15 Million Sales in Under a Month

Meccha Chameleon, the recently released hide-and-seek game, has taken the gaming world by storm. Developed by the creator known as lemorion_1224, this game has impressively sold 15 million copies in just 25 days since its launch on June 10, 2026.

Rapid Sales Growth

The astounding sales figures were announced by lemorion_1224 on a Sunday through Steam, the popular game distribution platform owned by Valve. In the announcement, the developer expressed gratitude toward players and hinted at exciting upcoming collaborations with a famous Japanese celebrity.

Game Popularity and Market Performance

From the moment of its release, Meccha Chameleon quickly gained traction, selling two million copies within its first two weeks. According to analysts at Alinea Insight, it currently stands as the best-selling game of 2026, significantly outperforming other major titles like Resident Evil Requiem, Forza Horizon 6, and Slay the Spire 2, which have each sold around seven million copies.

Comparison with Previous Hit Games

The game has also surpassed several bestsellers from 2025. For instance, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has sold around eight million copies, while Nintendo's Mario Kart World for the Switch 2 has reached 14.7 million copies. This level of success mirrors that of other major hits on Steam from the previous year, such as REPO and Peak.

Affordability and Revenue Insights

Meccha Chameleon is priced reasonably, with gamers in Indonesia able to purchase it for around Rp 58,499, and internationally for USD 5.99. Despite its low price point, the game has generated substantial revenue for its developer, estimated to be between USD 75 million (around Rp 1.3 trillion) and USD 90 million (approximately Rp 1.6 trillion).

The game's engaging social gameplay has captivated a vast number of players on Steam, making it a favorite among gamers. Shortly after its launch, the game recorded over 200,000 concurrent players just six days in, peaking at 340,534 players on June 21, 2026.

Interestingly, lemorion_1224 reportedly developed the game in only two months, although he had spent years experimenting with the hide-and-seek concept before its release.
