Microsoft has unveiled the Surface Laptop Ultra, its first laptop powered by the Nvidia RTX Spark processor. This new device is specifically designed for professionals engaged in creative work, software development, artificial intelligence, engineering, and 3D modeling.
Stunning Display Features
The Surface Laptop Ultra boasts a 15.3-inch Mini-LED PixelSense Ultra touchscreen, featuring a resolution of 3270 x 2180 pixels. With a dynamic refresh rate of up to 120Hz and a 3:2 aspect ratio, this laptop offers a peak brightness of 2,000 nits and supports Dolby Vision IQ. Powerful Performance
Equipped with the Nvidia RTX Spark processor tailored for AI needs, the Surface Laptop Ultra is available in two configurations. The base version utilizes the RTX Spark N1X with an 18-core CPU, while the more advanced version features a 20-core CPU. The base model supports up to 32GB of RAM, while the more powerful variant can be configured with up to 128GB of RAM. Additionally, Microsoft offers SSD storage options of up to 2TB, allowing users to expand their storage capacity as needed.
Comparison with MacBook Pro M5
In terms of performance, Microsoft asserts that the Surface Laptop Ultra significantly outperforms the MacBook Pro with M5 chip. It is reportedly 6.2 times faster for video creation, 4.3 times quicker for image rendering, and 2.1 times faster in processing initial tokens.
Enhanced User Experience
The Surface Laptop Ultra features a haptic touchpad that is 30% larger than standard touchpads found on 15-inch laptops. It also includes a variety of ports, such as USB-C, USB-A, HDMI, a 3.5mm audio jack, and an SD card reader. A notable addition is the new Magnetic Connect port, which functions similarly to Apple's MagSafe, combining magnetic charging with a traditional USB-C cable.
This laptop is designed for longevity, offering a battery life of up to 15 hours for video playback. Weighing in at 2 kg, it is available in two elegant colors: Platinum and Nightfall.
