HMD Global has quietly unveiled a collection of four new Nokia feature phones. While feature phones are often dubbed 'dumb phones,' these latest models introduce advanced capabilities, including an AI assistant.
Meet the New Models
The four new models are the Nokia 210 4G, Nokia 235 4G 2nd Edition, Nokia 215 4G 2nd Edition, and Nokia 200 4G. Each phone features a similar design, equipped with a T9 keyboard and a dedicated AI access button located in the center of the navigation keys.
AI Assistant Features
Powered by Sikey AI, the AI assistant allows users to perform various tasks using voice commands. Users can instruct the assistant to make phone calls, turn on the flashlight, set alarms and reminders, and even launch the camera.
Additionally, HMD Global claims that the AI assistant can answer basic questions. For instance, it can provide simple recipes or offer sample sentences in foreign languages.
Subscription Model for AI Features
However, it's worth noting that the AI assistant is categorized as a premium feature, which is not free. Users can try the AI capabilities for the first 180 days, after which a subscription fee of $2.99 per year will apply.
Cloud Services and Multimedia Features
The new feature phones support cloud telephone services, enabling users to access the latest videos, weather forecasts, sports news, and more without consuming storage space on the device. Users can also engage in video calls and send voice messages through the Xpress Chat platform.
Specifications Overview
Running on the S30+ operating system, these phones are powered by a 1,450 mAh battery. The Nokia 215 4G 2nd Edition and Nokia 235 4G 2nd Edition boast a 2.8-inch IPS display with QVGA resolution, along with front and rear cameras of VGA resolution.
On the other hand, the Nokia 210 4G and Nokia 200 4G come with a slightly smaller 2.4-inch IPS display, featuring the same resolution as their counterparts. Both models are equipped with a 2 MP rear camera.
Additional Features and Availability
Other notable features include a 3.5mm headphone jack, FM radio, and a USB-C port for charging. As of now, the pricing and availability of these four Nokia feature phones have not been disclosed.
