The OnePlus 16 has recently made its debut in China, but there are indications that it may not be released in the Indian market. Instead, rumors are swirling around the launch of the OnePlus 16R, which is expected to offer an impressive set of specifications for tech enthusiasts.
Latest Rumors on OnePlus 16R
A recent leak has provided insights into the OnePlus 16R, revealing that the device is currently undergoing Production Validation Testing (PVT). This phase typically ensures that the phone meets the company's quality standards before it is officially launched.
Powerful Hardware Specifications
According to the leak, the OnePlus 16R will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, promising top-notch performance for users. This chipset is known for its efficiency and speed, making it suitable for gaming and multitasking.
Impressive Camera Capabilities
One of the standout features of the OnePlus 16R is its triple rear camera setup. Leaks suggest that the phone will come with three 50MP sensors: a primary lens, an ultrawide camera, and a telephoto unit. This would be a significant upgrade from the OnePlus 15R, which did not include a telephoto lens.

In addition to its camera capabilities, the OnePlus 16R is rumored to feature a display with a refresh rate of 165Hz, ensuring smooth visuals for users. Furthermore, the device is expected to be equipped with a robust battery exceeding 7,500mAh, providing ample power for extended usage.
It is also worth noting that the OnePlus 16R will likely run on the newly announced ColorOS 17, offering a fresh user interface and improved features for an enhanced user experience.
Interestingly, the same hardware configuration is reportedly being tested under the Realme brand, hinting at potential cross-brand innovations in the smartphone market.
With these exciting specifications, the OnePlus 16R is shaping up to be a compelling option for consumers seeking a high-performance smartphone in India.
