Amazon UK's Prime Big Deal Days have unveiled a range of discounts on the 2025 Galaxy flagship smartphones, showcasing significant savings especially on the Galaxy Z Flip7. With the Galaxy Z Flip8 currently out of stock and priced considerably higher, the Z Flip7 emerges as a compelling option for budget-conscious buyers.
Pricing Overview of Samsung Galaxy Phones
The Prime Big Deal Days feature several offers on the Galaxy S25 series, with the base model priced at £600 for 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, while the Galaxy S25 Ultra is available for £900 for 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. Conversely, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is priced at £1,080 for the same storage configuration, lacking any Prime subscription requirement for access to these deals.
Why Choose Galaxy Z Flip7 Over Z Flip8?
Although the Galaxy Z Flip7 is a year older, the price difference and minimal upgrades in the Z Flip8 make the former more appealing. The Z Flip8, priced at £1,150 for the base model, does come with a promotional discount of £150, but it still costs £300 more than the Z Flip7, which remains competitively priced.
Feature Comparisons: Z Flip7 vs. Z Flip8
The Z Flip8 introduces a new Exynos 2600 chipset, replacing the Exynos 2500 found in the Z Flip7. However, users should note that both models share similar display brightness levels, with only a slight edge to the Z Flip7 at 1,471 nits compared to 1,470 nits for the Z Flip8. Battery performance is also comparable, with both devices featuring a 4,300mAh battery, though the Z Flip8 benefits slightly from a Si/C battery, boasting a longer active use time.
Alternatives: Galaxy Z Flip7 FE
If you're looking for a more economical option, the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE is currently available for £500 after a substantial 45% discount. However, this model is essentially a rehashed version of the Z Flip6, which may not justify the investment for many buyers in 2026.
In summary, with the Galaxy Z Flip7 offering notable savings and only minor differences compared to the latest model, it stands out as a sensible choice during Amazon UK's Prime Big Deal Days.
