Samsung has unveiled its latest foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z Fold 8, claiming it as the only device that combines a 10:16 aspect ratio for the Cover Screen and a 4:3 ratio for the Main Screen. This dual-screen design aims to enhance the way users interact with their devices, whether for social media, reading documents, or enjoying videos.
Innovative Screen Design
The new Galaxy Z Fold 8 features a Cover Screen that measures 5.5 inches, utilizing a 10:16 aspect ratio. This design is intended to provide a more balanced view for social media and daily apps when the phone is folded. In contrast, the Main Screen, which is 7.6 inches, adopts a 4:3 ratio, offering a spacious interface for multitasking, document reading, and video viewing in landscape mode.
Enhanced User Experience
Yadi Prayitno, Head of Mobile Experience Business at Samsung Electronics Indonesia, emphasized that the development of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 focused not just on a slimmer and lighter design but also on improving the overall screen usability. Weighing only 201 grams, this model is noted as the lightest in the Galaxy Z Fold series, making it easier to handle and more comfortable for everyday use.
Lightweight and Powerful
Beyond its design, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is equipped with a robust 4,800 mAh silicon-carbon battery and powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chipset. These specifications ensure that users enjoy a powerful performance alongside the convenience of a foldable design.
Camera Improvements and Availability
The smartphone also features an upgraded ultrawide camera with a 50 MP resolution, along with a new My FanCam feature that automatically tracks subjects during video recording, making it ideal for capturing dynamic moments like concerts. Currently, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is available for pre-order in Indonesia through Samsung's official sales channels.
