Leadership and Structure of the RX Division
At the helm of the Robotics Strategy Team will be Lee Dong-geon, a former leader of robot strategies at Boston Dynamics during his tenure at Hyundai. The RX division will be based at Samsung's research and development campus located in Umyeon-dong, Seoul. In addition, the company plans to establish research hubs in key locations including the United States, China, and Japan.
Focus on Industrial Robots
Samsung's initial focus will be on industrial robotics, as it seeks to integrate advanced robotic technologies into its manufacturing processes. In 2024, Samsung became the largest shareholder in Rainbow Robotics, a company known for its innovative robotic designs, including a robotic dog.
