Trump Mobile T1 Officially on Sale, Pre-order Customers Still Waiting

Title: Trump Mobile T1: The Controversial Phone Now Available for Purchase

The Long-Awaited Phone Finally Available to the Public

After months of delays and growing controversy, the Trump Mobile T1 phone now appears to be openly available for everyone to buy. Although many customers who pre-ordered this phone are still waiting, Trump Mobile quietly opened sales for this $499 Android phone.

Pre-orders Still Pending

For those who pre-ordered, including our team at Android Authority, the situation is quite disappointing. We paid a $100 deposit when orders opened, but so far have not received any shipping notifications or meaningful updates from the company. This adds to the frustration of customers hoping to receive their phones on time.

Surprising Price Increase

Interestingly, when entering shipping information on the Trump Mobile website, the final checkout price rose from $499 to $540. This increase includes a $41.75 fee labeled as "Equipment Tax." Although the name sounds unusual, the amount closely resembles typical state and local sales taxes applied to a $499 purchase.

Questionable Specifications and Controversy Behind the Phone

Trump Mobile's decision to open sales to the public amid many unfulfilled pre-orders is unusual. The T1 phone has also been surrounded by various controversies regarding its marketing and origins since its launch. Recently, the PR agency representing Trump Mobile reportedly parted ways with the company. Analysis shows that the T1 is not a new smartphone made in America but rather a gold-plated modified version of the HTC U24 Pro with some hardware changes.

In terms of specifications, the phone offers features that are somewhat outdated for a mid-range device. The T1 is equipped with a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chip, and 512GB of storage. It also has a 50MP main camera, 8MP ultrawide camera, 50MP telephoto camera with 2x zoom, and a 50MP selfie camera.

The T1 is powered by a 5,000mAh battery, slightly larger than the HTC U24 Pro’s battery. It supports 30W fast charging and runs Android 15 out of the box. However, whether these specs are attractive enough to buyers remains uncertain. Many early customers who pre-ordered are still waiting to receive the devices they paid for.

Going forward, it remains to be seen if the company can fulfill new orders. The controversies and uncertainties surrounding the Trump Mobile T1 will certainly be a concern for potential buyers before deciding to invest in this phone.
