There will be no directory search for usernames, so only people who have the username can reach the user.
Users must also ensure that the usernames they create are unique and do not overlap with others. WhatsApp provides a username generator to help users create unique usernames. Interestingly, one username applies to only one WhatsApp account, but users can keep their chosen username even if they change their phone number.
