Qualcomm's New Flagship Chipsets
Qualcomm has introduced its latest flagship chipsets, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6. Utilizing TSMC's 2nm manufacturing process, these chipsets feature enhanced Oryon CPU cores and Adreno GPUs, which promise significant improvements in performance and AI capabilities. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 is positioned as the more robust option, while the standard Elite Gen 6 caters to a wider selection of flagship devices. Xiaomi 18 Pro and Pro Max Unveiled
Xiaomi has officially launched its 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max models, featuring impressive specifications. The 18 Pro sports a 6.4-inch OLED display, while the Pro Max boasts a larger 6.9-inch screen. Both models come equipped with hardware-level privacy features and secondary rear screens measuring 2.7 inches and 2.9 inches, respectively. The pricing for the Xiaomi 18 Pro starts at CNY 5,999 (approximately $840), while the Pro Max begins at CNY 6,999 (around $980). Both models are currently available in China, and Xiaomi has indicated that a global launch is set for later this year.
Vivo's X500 Series Launch
In addition to Xiaomi's announcements, vivo has unveiled its X500 series, which includes three models: the X500, X500 Pro, and X500 Pro Max. The X500 and Pro models are powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9600 chipset, while the Pro Max upgrades to the Dimensity 9600+, offering enhanced camera capabilities. All three devices feature sizable batteries, Zeiss-branded cameras, and run on OriginOS 7.
The X500 series will initially launch in China, with sales commencing on September 30, and a global release planned for October 27.
Other Notable Announcements
Realme has also made waves with its 16 Pro Harry Potter Edition, which showcases a themed design and introduces Quadra Light-Sensing Color-Changing technology.
