Bandai Namco Entertainment is gearing up to launch its latest game, Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters. One of the exciting surprises in this release is the inclusion of Indonesia's national football team.
This announcement was confirmed through a trailer released on YouTube on July 7, 2026. The seven-minute video showcases a player from Indonesia, specifically the goalkeeper, demonstrating skills while facing off against Tsubasa's powerful shots.
Introducing Eko Jawato
The Indonesian goalkeeper featured in the trailer is Eko Jawato. Although his screen time is limited, his performance is enough to affirm the rumors circulating among Tsubasa fans regarding the presence of Indonesia's national team.
Impressive Skills on Display
In the trailer, Eko Jawato impressively saves Tsubasa's signature shot, the Eagle Shot, accompanied by a glowing Garuda effect in the background. This moment adds an exciting visual flair, highlighting the game’s graphics and attention to detail.
Comparing Teams in Southeast Asia
Currently, Eko is the only known player representing Indonesia. In contrast, other Southeast Asian teams, like Thailand, have revealed a complete roster. Thailand boasts a lineup featuring players such as Faran, Sakhon, and Chana, indicating they will be a formidable opponent in the game.
Global Team Lineup
As the trailer further introduces various national teams, we see Japan’s squad led by Tsubasa Ozora alongside notable players like Kojiro Hyuga and Taro Misaki. Other countries included in Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters are Uzbekistan, China, Sweden, Saudi Arabia, the Netherlands, Uruguay, Mexico, Brazil, and Argentina.
Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters is developed by Tamsoft Corporation and is set to be released on August 28, 2026, across multiple platforms including PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
