Apple is reportedly working on a new version of its budget-friendly MacBook Neo, following the model's success in the market. This upcoming iteration promises significant upgrades, including a new processor and expanded memory capacity, along with exciting new color options.
Enhanced Processing Power
According to Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, who has corroborated information from analyst Tim Culpan, the next-generation MacBook Neo will be powered by the A19 Pro chip. This advanced processor has already been integrated into the iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and iPhone Air, replacing the current A18 Pro chip.
Increased Memory Capacity
One of the most notable upgrades in the new MacBook Neo will be its RAM. The device is expected to feature 12GB of RAM, an improvement from the previous 8GB capacity. This enhancement is set to provide users with a smoother and more efficient multitasking experience.
Potential Price Hikes
Despite the appealing upgrades, ongoing component shortages are likely to lead to increased prices for the new MacBook Neo. Apple raised the prices on nearly all of its product lines last month, and there is speculation that the company may discontinue the lowest storage variant of 256GB, which could further elevate the starting price of the device.
Other Upcoming Mac Products
In addition to the MacBook Neo, the same report indicates that Apple is preparing to unveil several new Mac computer models. This product update initiative highlights Apple's commitment to refreshing its lineup of laptops and desktops to cater to a diverse range of users.
