iCloud Plus Subscription Price Adjustment
Apple has announced a price increase for its iCloud Plus service in Indonesia, affecting nearly all paid storage plans available. This change, effective from July 21, 2026, applies to various tiers ranging from 200 GB to 12 TB.
Details of the Price Changes
The most significant increase is seen in the 12 TB plan, which will see a monthly fee rise of Rp 200,000, changing from Rp 999,000 to Rp 1,199,000. Other plans have also experienced hikes, including:
- 6 TB plan: Increased by Rp 100,000
- 2 TB plan: Increased by Rp 30,000
- 200 GB plan: Increased by Rp 10,000
Interestingly, the 50 GB plan remains unchanged at Rp 15,000 per month.
Possible Reasons Behind the Increase
While Apple has not provided specific reasons for this price adjustment, speculation suggests that it may be linked to the depreciation of the Indonesian rupiah against the US dollar. As of July 21, 2026, the exchange rate stands at approximately Rp 17,930 per US dollar, compared to around Rp 16,330 at the same time last year.
Features of iCloud Plus
iCloud Plus is Apple’s cloud storage service that enables users to store photos, videos, data backups, and application data such as WhatsApp online securely. In addition to increased storage, subscribers also gain access to several features including:
- Hide My Email
- Private Relay
- HomeKit Secure Video support
- Family Sharing options for storage
For users with an Apple Account, 5 GB of free storage is provided, which often proves insufficient, prompting many to opt for the larger iCloud Plus plans.
In related news, other Apple services, including Apple Music and Apple One, have also seen price increases in Indonesia.
