Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy A27 5G, their latest mid-range smartphone that brings several upgrades over its predecessor. This device features a Super AMOLED 120Hz display, Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset, and a 50 MP OIS camera, along with enhanced AI capabilities.
Target Audience and Design
Samsung aims the Galaxy A27 5G at young individuals, particularly students and early-career professionals. Annisa Maulina, the MX Product Marketing Senior Manager at Samsung Electronics Indonesia, mentioned that this smartphone is designed for smooth performance to support daily activities such as gaming, studying, and social media browsing.
The most notable enhancement is the display, which now boasts a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED panel with Full HD+ resolution and a refreshing 120Hz rate. The front camera has also been redesigned to an Infinity-O style, allowing for a more expansive viewing area while maintaining a sleek profile of just 7.8 mm in thickness and a weight of 200 grams, making it comfortable for prolonged use.
Performance and Features
The Galaxy A27 5G is powered by a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset built on a 4nm process, paired with either 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM. Storage options include 128GB and 256GB, expandable via microSD up to 2TB. The smartphone is equipped with a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 25W fast charging.
Annisa noted that internal tests indicated the device maintains smooth performance even when running 20 applications simultaneously, with improved battery efficiency compared to previous models.
Camera Capabilities
In terms of photography, the Galaxy A27 5G features a primary 50 MP camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), accompanied by a 5 MP ultra-wide camera and a 2 MP macro lens. For selfies, there is a 12 MP front-facing camera.
This smartphone runs on Android 16 with One UI 8.5, and Samsung has committed to providing Android and One UI updates for up to six generations, along with security updates for six years. Additionally, it holds an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance, as well as Samsung Knox Vault for enhanced data protection.
Smart Features and Availability
Samsung has introduced a comprehensive set of AI features with the Galaxy A27 5G. The Circle to Search function can now recognize multiple objects within a single image, including clothing and accessories. Other AI features include Object Eraser for photo editing, Voice Transcription for translating spoken content into 22 languages, and integration with Google Gemini and Bixby for natural language processing.
Importantly, the voice transcription feature operates offline, allowing users to utilize it without an internet connection.
The Galaxy A27 5G will be available for purchase starting July 18, both online and offline. Pricing details are yet to be disclosed, but customers who buy before July 31 will receive special bonuses.
