The national airline of Saudi Arabia, Saudia, is enhancing its collaboration with the Esports World Cup Foundation (EWCF) by becoming the official airline for the upcoming Esports World Cup (EWC) 2026. This partnership goes beyond traditional air travel, as Saudia introduces a groundbreaking aircraft designed specifically for esports.
World's First Esports-Themed Aircraft
The newly unveiled plane, adorned with a special EWC 2026 livery, was introduced at the Saudia Technic facility in Jeddah. Throughout the tournament, which will take place in Paris, this aircraft will operate daily flights on the Riyadh-Paris route, facilitating travel for players, team staff, and content creators.
Unique In-Flight Experience
Passengers aboard this unique aircraft will enjoy an exclusive in-flight experience, featuring the documentary 'Esports World Cup: Level Up' available on the BEYOND entertainment platform. The esports-themed livery will be maintained for the next two years, showcasing Saudia's commitment to the gaming community.
Enhancing the Esports Experience
The EWC aims to unite people through their shared passion for gaming, and this partnership with Saudia broadens the reach of that experience beyond the competition arena. Saudia will also implement a Superfan program, flying selected supporters to Paris, and hosting a special Fortnite tournament featuring an airport-themed map.
This collaboration plays a crucial role in facilitating the mobility of thousands of participants at what is set to be the largest esports tournament in history. EWC 2026 is particularly significant, as it marks the first time the event will be held outside Saudi Arabia, taking place in Paris, France. The tournament will feature over 2,000 players from 200 global organizations competing across 24 different games, with a staggering prize pool of $75 million (approximately IDR 1.35 trillion at an exchange rate of IDR 18,000/USD).
