Hasselblad's Phocus Mobile Now Available for Android Users

Hasselblad has officially brought its Phocus Mobile application to Android, marking a significant milestone for photographers who use the brand's cameras. After a long wait of 16 years since its initial release on iOS and six years following the launch of Phocus Mobile 2 for iPhones, this app is now accessible for Android users.

Compatibility with Hasselblad Cameras

The Phocus Mobile app is designed to work seamlessly with several Hasselblad camera models, including the X2D II, X2D 100C, and the 907X & CFV 100C. This compatibility ensures that users can fully utilize the capabilities of their Hasselblad equipment while on the go.

Features of Phocus Mobile

One of the standout features of Phocus Mobile is its integration of the Hasselblad Natural Color Solution (HNCS). This technology combines artificial intelligence with a robust suite of editing and photo management tools, allowing users to review, edit, organize, and export their images directly from their Android devices.

Image Quality and Editing Tools

According to Hasselblad, the app maintains exceptional color accuracy and tonal gradation from the preview stage all the way to export. For Android devices that support HDR, the app enhances images captured with the X2D II 100C, revealing intricate shadow details and vibrant highlights that closely align with natural vision.

The app's AI-driven RAW noise reduction is particularly effective in low-light conditions, producing clearer images while retaining important details. Users can choose between two modes: Purity Mode, which emphasizes noise reduction, and Detail Mode, which aims to preserve finer image characteristics. Processing a 100MP RAW file typically takes between 15 to 20 seconds.

Comprehensive Editing Options

Phocus Mobile offers a diverse array of editing tools, empowering users to make precise adjustments to exposure, curves, and white balance. Other features include monochrome and lens corrections, sharpening, cropping, rotation, and keystone correction. Additionally, users can apply settings to multiple images simultaneously, enhancing workflow efficiency.

Images can be imported into the application via Wi-Fi or USB-C, and users have the flexibility to export their edited images in various formats, including JPG, TIFF, HEIF, 3FR, and RAW.

With the release of Phocus Mobile for Android, Hasselblad continues to enhance the photography experience, making it more accessible and user-friendly for mobile users.
